Your OnlyFans link on Instagram and TikTok: the rules, the risks and the logged-out fan
Instagram and TikTok treat adult subscription links very differently. What their rules say, what a link page can and can't do, and why fans arrive logged out.
Short answer: Instagram allows some links to adult subscription sites but restricts them to adult viewers, while TikTok's rules have prohibited promoting premium sexual content at all. Putting a link page between your profile and OnlyFans does not change either rule — platforms can follow the link. What a good link page can do is keep your page itself clean, put adult links behind an 18+ notice, and help fans continue in a browser where they're signed in.
What Instagram's rules say
Meta's Community Standards on adult sexual solicitation cover Instagram and Facebook. They prohibit content that offers or asks for sexual services or pornographic material, and they restrict some other content — including links to adult subscription sites — to viewers who are 18 or older. In practice that means the link itself is not automatically a violation, but what surrounds it matters: explicit captions, images or solicitation in your profile, posts or messages can be.
What TikTok's rules say
TikTok tightened its rules on sexual solicitation in late 2020 to cover premium sexual content. Reporting at the time (Rolling Stone) quoted a TikTok spokesperson saying the platform does not allow accounts that try to redirect traffic to such sites, and creators reported bans for linking through third-party link pages. Check TikTok's current Community Guidelines before you put any adult platform anywhere on your TikTok profile.

| Does a link page change this? | No — the destination still counts | No — creators reported bans via link pages |

What a link page can do — and what it can't
A link page collects your platforms behind one address and gives you control over how each link is presented. It cannot make a link a platform restricts acceptable, and it should not try to hide where a link leads: a page that shows reviewers something different from what visitors get is exactly what platforms act against, and the consequences can reach the link tool's whole domain, not just your account.
- Can: list OnlyFans, Fansly, Fanvue and your other platforms as clearly labelled links.
- Can: put each adult link behind an 18+ notice that visitors have to confirm.
- Can: optionally label the page as adult for search engines, so SafeSearch keeps it away from people who filter adult results.
- Can't: promise a platform will accept the link, or protect an account from its enforcement.
- Shouldn't: disguise the destination, rotate domains after a warning, or show crawlers a different page.
Set up your page responsibly
- 1
Keep everything visible before the 18+ notice clean
Profile picture, background, page title and bio are what everyone sees first. Keep them non-explicit, the same as you would for your Instagram profile itself.
- 2
Add the 18+ notice to adult links
Turn it on for each link button or featured card that leads to adult content or shows a suggestive preview. A short link or per-link breakout link to such a link opens your page first, so the notice is shown there.
- 3
Label links plainly
Name the platform and what's there. Misleading labels — a "shop" link that leads to an adult site — are a bad experience for visitors and a rule problem for you.
- 4
Add a backup channel
Accounts can be restricted. A newsletter sign-up through your email provider gives fans a way to find you that doesn't depend on one platform.
- 5
Test from the app, signed in and out
Open your link from Instagram on iPhone and Android, with and without being logged in to your subscription platform, and check where fans actually land.
Why fans arrive logged out
When a fan taps your link in Instagram, the page usually opens inside Instagram's own browser view rather than in Safari or Chrome. That view may not share the signed-in session, saved passwords or payment methods from the fan's usual browser. So a subscriber who is logged in to OnlyFans in Safari can still see a login screen after tapping your link — and has to remember a password at the exact moment they meant to subscribe or renew. Why you're logged out when you open links from Instagram or TikTok explains the mechanism for any account.
Opening the link in the usual browser can solve that. Fans can do it themselves through the app's menu or by copying the link (how to open Instagram links in Safari or Chrome). OpenOut's breakout flow (Pro and Agency, once you switch it on) offers that step before the page: an opening attempt on Android and a guided copy flow on iPhone. It can't guarantee the browser opens, because the app decides.
For agencies managing several creators
Everything above applies per creator: each page, each profile and each set of links has to follow the rules on its own. On OpenOut, the Agency plan covers up to 10 pages, each with its own handle, managed from one account. The rules for 18+ pages are in §4 of our Terms of Service.
Frequently asked questions
Can I put my OnlyFans link in my Instagram bio?
Meta's Community Standards restrict links to adult subscription sites to viewers 18 and older rather than banning them outright, but explicit content or solicitation around the link can violate them. Read the current policy and keep your profile itself non-explicit.
Can I link to OnlyFans on TikTok?
TikTok's guidelines have prohibited promoting premium sexual content, and creators have reported bans for linking to adult platforms through link pages. Check TikTok's current Community Guidelines before adding any adult platform to your profile.
Does using a link page hide my OnlyFans link from Instagram?
It shouldn't, and using one that way breaks OpenOut's Terms — the bot shield included. Platform rules apply to what you promote, whichever tool sits in between. A link page organises your links and puts an 18+ notice on adult ones; it is not a way around platform rules.
Why are my fans logged out when they open my OnlyFans link from Instagram?
Instagram usually opens links in its own browser view, which may not share the signed-in session from Safari or Chrome. Opening the link in the usual browser can help; OpenOut's Pro plan offers that step, with an opening attempt on Android and a guided copy flow on iPhone.
