Looking for a
Beacons alternative?

Beacons: an all-in-one creator platform with a link-in-bio page, online store, media kit and email marketing. Here's how it compares with OpenOut — with a source and a date for every statement about Beacons, and the cases where it may be the better choice.

  • Sourced, dated statements
  • Honest about limits
  • Free forever plan

The short answer

OpenOut or Beacons?

Both give you one link page for your social profiles. Which one fits depends on what you need around it.

Beacons describes itself as an all-in-one creator platform: a link-in-bio page with an online store, media kit and email marketing, Insights on where visitors come from and go next, and your own domain if you connect one. Its Community Standards let creators link to adult content behind a sensitive-content notice, as long as the page itself stays suitable for all ages. OpenOut is narrower — a link-in-bio page builder whose Pro and Agency plans add a breakout flow for in-app browsers — and it has no custom domains.

Beacons

Beacons may fit better if

  • You want your own domain for your page — OpenOut pages always use openout.app.
  • You want a store, media kit and email marketing in the same tool as your link-in-bio page.

OpenOut

What OpenOut is built around

  • A split by platform, stated upfront: an opening attempt on Android, a guided copy flow on iPhone, and the address to select by hand when copying is blocked.
  • The browser step reported as separate events: opening attempts, copies and confirmed sessions in another browser.
  • Published rules for 18+ creators, with a click-through 18+ notice on link buttons and featured cards.
  • Published prices: free to start, Pro $9/month, Agency $19/month for up to 10 pages.
  • Run from Germany, by an operator named in the imprint.

Don't take our word for it

Compare them on your own phone

Vendor pages, ours included, describe intentions. Ten minutes with two phones tells you what your visitors will actually get.

  1. 01

Use the same link and destination

Point both tools at the same page — ideally one where sign-in, checkout or a subscription matters to you.

  2. 02

Tap it inside the real apps

Instagram, TikTok and whatever else sends you traffic, on an iPhone and an Android phone, signed in and signed out at the destination.

  3. 03

    Write down what actually happened

Did another browser open? How many taps did it take? Was the visitor still signed in? What happened when opening was blocked?

The full checklist for testing a browser step is in in-app browser escape tools compared.

Switching

Moving from Beacons

A link page is a list of destinations and labels, so moving is mostly re-creating them — in a safe order.

  1. 01

    Build your OpenOut page first

Recreate your links and publish. The free plan covers one page with up to 3 links; the breakout flow is on Pro and Agency.

  2. 02

Swap the link in each profile

Replace the old address in your Instagram, TikTok and other profiles with your OpenOut link, then tap it from each app once.

  3. 03

    Close the old account last

Only cancel the previous tool after every profile points at the new page — old links in posts or ads may still send visitors there.

FAQ

Straight answers

Is OpenOut an alternative to Beacons?

Yes, for the job they share: one link page behind your social profiles. On Pro and Agency, once switched on, OpenOut adds a browser step (an opening attempt on Android, a guided copy flow on iPhone) and reports it separately. Where Beacons may fit better is listed on this page.

Where do the statements about Beacons come from?

From Beacons's own pages or a listing site, linked next to each statement with the date we looked. We haven't tested Beacons on devices. A row without a statement means our sources didn't cover it, not that the feature is missing.

Does OpenOut always get visitors out of the in-app browser?

No, and no tool can promise that — apps decide what a web page may do. OpenOut makes an opening attempt on Android and shows a guided copy flow on iPhone, with the address to select by hand if copying is blocked, so the visitor can still continue.

How much does OpenOut cost compared with Beacons?

OpenOut is free for one page with up to 3 links; Pro is $9/month and Agency $19/month. We don't restate Beacons's prices because they change — check their site for current plans.

Can I use my own domain like on Beacons?

Not on OpenOut. Pages always use openout.app addresses. Beacons' help center explains connecting your own domain to its link-in-bio page or website, so if that matters to you, Beacons may fit better.

How do Beacons and OpenOut handle 18+ creators?

Beacons' Community Standards say you may link to adult content if you turn on its sensitive content notice, keep your page suitable for all ages and make sure the linked content is legal where you are. OpenOut welcomes 18+ creators under published rules, with a click-through 18+ notice on link buttons and featured cards and a non-explicit page.
